How can I create an IAB DCP with easyDCP Creator+?

The creation of IAB (Immersive Audio Bitstream) DCPs, including Dolby Atmos content, is supported in easyDCP Creator+ starting with version 4.3.

1. Create a new immersive DCP project

First, create a new project in the main user interface. If available, select an audio preset that supports Immersive Audio/Dolby Atmos:

2. Add the Picture Track

Add your picture track and drop it onto the reel.

3. Add the Sound Track

Click Add Sound Track.

Without fallback audio

If you do not want to use fallback audio, select the preset Bv2.1 Immersive Audio (Atmos) that supports Immersive Audio/Dolby Atmos. This preset will automatically generate the synchronization signal (FSK Sync Signal) on channel 14:

With fallback audio

If you want to include fallback audio, select Custom Layout instead. Choose your Soundfield Group according to your fallback audio (for example 5.1). Then click the Optional Channels drop-down menu, select 14: FSK Sync Signal. Now you have set up your custom layout.

Next step: Add your fallback audio source files:

Finally, click OK and drop the sound track onto the reel. Channel 14 stays empty at that time.

4. Add the Immersive Audio/Dolby Atmos Track

Add your immersive audio (IAB/Dolby Atmos) track and drop it onto the reel.

5. Follow the Naming Convention

Make sure to include IAB in the CPL title.

If your DCP contains fallback audio, include the appropriate channel type in the CPL title (for example, 51-IAB for IAB audio with 5.1 fallback audio in MainSound):

Your final project should contain three tracks per reel, regardless of whether fallback audio is included:

  1. Picture
  2. Sound
  3. Immersive Audio

You are now ready to generate your DCP.
